La fondatrice Chiara DeMarchi svolge la sua attività di fotografa di bambini e maternità presso il suo home studio situato a Selvazzano Dentro, nel nord Italia. E’ affetta da Rettocolite Ulcerosa dal 2009, patologia cronica intestinale che, negli anni, ha cambiato di molto il suo stile di vita, andando ad influire sia sui suoi rapporti interpersonali, sia nei suoi sentimenti. Si definisce una grande sostenitrice dell’allattamento al seno materno in quanto, a causa della malattia, esso ha avuto un inizio molto travagliato dopo la nascita del suo primogenito. Sotto La Stessa Pelle è il nome della sua mostra fotografica itinerante che rappresenta l’allattamento nella quotidianità, enfatizzando il legame mamma-bambino e cercando di normalizzarlo nei confronti di una società spesso tiranna e giudiziosa.
Vedere le tracce che la vita lascia nei corpi delle persone porta alle convinzione che le cicatrici, visibili o non, fanno parte del proprio essere, del vissuto, del bottino di guerra: gli ostacoli che la vita pone davanti non devono assolutamente essere sinonimo di vergogna o pregiudizio. L’educazione è uno degli strumenti più potenti al mondo e lo scopo primario di Chiara è proprio quello di sensibilizzare le menti ed educare al rispetto e alla comprensione, per tutti gli uomini e per le future generazioni.
The founder Chiara De Marchi is a photographer specialized in children and motherhood photography and her home studio is located in Selvazzano Dentro, in northern Italy. She is suffering from Ulcerative Colitis since 2009, a chronic intestinal disease which, over the years has changed her lifestyle, going to influencing both on her interpersonal relationships, both in her feelings. She is a great breastfeeding advocate because of the disease, she had a very troubled beginning after the birth of her first child. Sotto La Stessa Pelle is the name of her photo exhibition representing fragments of breastfeeding daily life between mother and child, emphasizing the bond between them and trying to normalize it despite of a society always more tyrannical and judicious.
Seeing the traces that life leaves in people’s bodies leads to the belief that scars, visible or not, are part of your own being, of the past, of the spoils of war: the obstacles that life puts in front should never be synonymous with shame or prejudice. Education is one of the most powerful tools in the world and the primary purpose of Chiara is to raise minds awareness and refine respect and understanding for all people and future generations.
